Café Momenta is a charming, cozy establishment located on the Zelny trh market square in the center of Brno.
It offers an ideal place to read a book, meet with friends, or sit outside and observe the goings-on at the market, all while sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a glass of wine. The interior features a mix of different styles: a spacious minimal section with comfortable seating and a massive wooden counter with a display case full of delectable sweets next to it, and a section decorated in a more classic European cafe style with windows looking onto the square. People who come here quickly fall in love with its ambience and delicious food and drinks. Café Momenta prides itself in serving first-rate coffee and their baristas painstakingly create the most beautiful café art on your latte. Its cuisine is French bistro-style, serving up quiches, paninis, a large variety of pates, and pork or duck rillettes. Café Momenta opens at 8:00, when you can order a wholesome breakfast of eggs prepared in all kinds of ways or homemade oatmeal. Besides coffee and tea, they also serve beer, wine, champagne, and various fine liqueurs. The chefs shop at the market on the square for vegetables and fruit, some of which they use to make the syrups that are mixed with sparkling water to produce their delicious lemonades. The cookies the café serves, stamped with their signature “M,” are baked right next door, infusing the interior with a delicious cinnamon aroma. Tana Kmenta, Café Momenta’s owner and an avid baker, created all of the recipes for the desserts and pastries the café serves and sells. Besides cookies and biscuits in various flavors, you can find madeleines, macaroons, cakes, pies, cheesecakes, and panna cotta. Many people call it their favorite café, so stop by and see why one visit simply isn’t enough.
