Spend an evening at an intimate and atmospheric wine bar in Prague's charming center.
Inspired by the founders love of the drink of the gods, and the 2004 Hollywood hit Sideways, an entertaining film that explores the lives of wine lovers in Napa Valley, Bokovka (translated indeed as 'sideways') is one of the best wine bars in Prague for sampling and enjoying the finer things in life. The bar features a unique interior with a sort of dilapidated beauty, but of course, the real star of this bar is the wine. The menu is extensive, perfect for any wine lover. If you feel like enjoying a larger glass of wine, the bar features select wines that can be ordered by the glass, otherwise this wine bar functions as a tasting bar. Every Thursday newly opened wines are presented by a member of the “Bokovka Club” , a wine lovers club that is made up of the head sommelier, a restaurateur, a graphic designer, a modern art collector, two film directors, a painter and a photographer. It is highly advisable to make reservations for Bokovka, which can be conveniently done online. Light snacks are served including grilled sausage, cheese, and homemade bread with different spreads such as pig lard and caviar, cod liver, farm butter and Hungarian salami.
