Nová Galerie
Located in the pretty residential area of Vinohrady close to Náměstí Míru, the Nová Galerie, or New Gallery is an independent art gallery presenting modern and contemporary Czech art in a classic gallery space.
The clean white walls of the gallery exhibit their permanent collection, which consists of intriguing works by Czech artists such as Adam Štech, Jakub Špaňhel and Jiří David; this gallery aims to systematically present and support the best Czech art locally and abroad. The works presented at the art gallery are of highest quality, exceptionality and uniqueness. Nová Galerie also plays host to various temporary exhibitions with accompanying programs, workshops, and art courses. Providing commented guided tours for school groups, interest groups and for the general public, the Nová Galerie has created a space where one can actually debate and discuss the art works with the artists themselves – thereby making it not just a gallery but more of an open artistic center for the community where viewers can interact with artists in order to understand artistic concepts more. Nová Galerie also holds lectures and discussions, exciting animation programs for children, regular art courses for both adults and children, and participates in publishing art books and catalogs. Nová Galerie, according to owner Nina Hedwic, is a place “where dreams become a reality.”
