The VJEMY Studio was established by an extraordinarily thinking design-architectural trio in 2013, whose work is influenced by the renowned style of Czech Cubism and the art of high quality craftwork.
The founders of the VJEMY Studio are the Ciegler brothers (Adam and Samuel), together with Světlana Koženova. Adam and Světlana graduated in the field of architecture from the Faculty of Art and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec and from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague. Samuel successfully completed his studies at the Secondary Professional School of Applied Art and continues to study architecture at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. The studio produces interior designs, customized furniture designs and also home accessories. Thanks to their concept and unique way of creating all of their products, the studio puts emphasis on the respect for nature, classical technologies and profound knowledge of the materials. By respecting all these values, the VJEMY Studio follows the interrupted tradition of high quality craftwork. One of their products, “carpenter’s table”, shows this attitude perfectly. It is made of wood and wax, nothing more, no glue at all. The beauty of the table is hidden in the details – proportions, joints and the wood itself. Construction of the table is an answer to the fact that wood is a living material, the more it twists and shrinks, the more the table gets stable and solid. The studio produces also other interior accessories, such as their Neocubist lights, an iconic collection of glazed geometric porcelain (plates, bowls, cups, teapots, mugs), inspired by Czech Cubism, and more. At the same time, the trio draws up construction concepts and interior designs. You can see and purchase the selected products by the VJEMY Studio at the GASK gallery in Kutná Hora, the FLEXUP gallery & store in Prague’s Old Town and the Modernista store in the Municipal House in Prague.
