The renowned Cafe Louvre was opened in 1902 and has always been one of the most significant cafes in Prague. It was visited by many world famous personalities, such as Franz Kafka, Karel Čapek and Albert Einstein, while it’s also important to note that several fellowships and organizations were formed there. However, the busy life of the cafe was interrupted by the communist regime. Louvre Cafe was reopened again only in 1992 after it underwent extensive renovations. Although the current look of the interior has changed compared to the original interior, the ceiling and wall decorations have been preserved from the 1930s. There is nothing more pleasant than starting the day with breakfast at Café Louvre – sit by the large windows and witness bustling Národní Street come to life in the morning.
