Kuba & Pilař architekti

The Brno-based architectural firm Kuba & Pilař Architekti, established in 1998 by the then fresh graduates of architecture Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař, is one of the most highly acclaimed Czech architectural studios.

Kuba & Pilař Architekti continues the tradition of quality and award-winning Czech pre-war and contemporary world architecture. Both architects have drawn inspiration from the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize for architecture in 2009, among others. Buildings by Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař often excel in their simple and well-thought-out form and minimalist concept with the use of exposed concrete. They have undertaken both residential and commercial buildings- especially worth mentioning is their Omega department store in Brno, campuses, or church buildings. At the beginning of their collaboration they built the small Chapel of Our Lady Queen in Jestřebí, which shifted the view of new church buildings and became the inspiration for many architects. Kuba & Pilař Architekti have received many awards for their progressive designs and implementation. Among others, they were awarded the Czech Grand Prix Architektů award twice; in 2002 for the library of the Faculty of Arts at the Masaryk University in Brno, and in 2009 for the premises of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and physical education facilities of the University of Pardubice. If you want to have your architectural project executed by true and experienced professionals, do not hesitate to contact the Kuba & Pilař Architekti architectural office.
