The Czech designer Martin Žampach deals mainly with industrial design, but a great amount of his work is also dedicated to glass design. He follows the family tradition of glassblowing, to which he gives a new dimension.
Martin Žampach creates his own collections of product design in which glass plays the main role while at the same time creating competitive designs for his clients. His goal in the area of industrial design is to design such solutions that will make it possible for the companies to reduce their costs and optimize their manufacturing process. He achieves this not only thanks to his natural attention to detail, but also to his experience gained in design studios abroad. Martin Žampach worked at an architectural studio in Londrina, Brazil, as well as for the renowned CuldeSac studio in the Spanish city of Valencia, and completed an internship at Art.Lebedev Studio, the biggest design studio in Russia. In the Czech Republic he worked for the FLEX/cocoon design studio, where he dealt with industrial design and structural packaging. Martin Žampach graduated with a degree in industrial design at the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and for one year he studied product design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. He put his love for glass design into effect while studying at the Secondary Art School in Luhačovice. Currently, Martin Žampach contributes as one of the few Czech designers who are continuing and forwarding the long Czech tradition of quality glass production.
