Czech Fashion Designers

Kateřina Geislerová is a successful Czech fashion designer living and working in Paris, but her elegant and sophisticated designs can also be purchased in Prague.

Kateřina Geislerová studied at the Sorbonne, St. Denis University and also at the LISA art school (L’Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués) in Paris where she completed her studies in 2001 with the best thesis work of the year. In 2002 she saw her first successes, both in the design competitions Festival de Jeunes Créateurs – Tignes, and Festival de la Côte d’Opale, as well as her first fashion show in the center of Paris. At the beginning of 2003, Kateřina Geislerová founded her own brand and opened a studio and showroom near the renowned Champs Elysées. These first collections consisted only of original pieces and custom-made limited series. In 2004 she extended her work to include a prêt-à-porter line which was presented in various boutiques all over Paris. In 2007 Kateřina Geislerová opened a boutique near the famous Centre Georges Pompidou, and in 2009 she began an e-shop on her website. Designs by Kateřina Geislerová typically emphasize the waistline, décolletage and shoulder lines and are often decorated with a conspicuous detail. Most of all she likes to design and sew pants, coats and dresses, but her collections also comprise skirts and tops. Kateřina likes natural materials such as cotton, wool and silk. All her designs are made in Prague.
