The awarded Prague bar La Casa de la Havana Vieja uniquely combines the tradition of old Cuban bars with up-to-date mixology.
The interior consisting of dark-wood furniture and a tiled floor is based on a simple colonial style. The authenticity of the bar is enhanced by photographs on the walls depicting Cuba and its lifestyle. In the last of the bar's three rooms, one which can also be used for private events, you will find a true gem – a glass showcase housing an impressive family collection of rums comprising some one hundred bottles. You can also sit in the bar's garden surrounded by green plants and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. At La Casa de la Havana Vieja you can taste a variety of rums from Cuba, Jamaica, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and other places, as well as American and Canadian whiskey, cognac and brandy, Cuban beer, and more. Try the bar's offer of testing plates consisting of four samples of rum, whiskey, vodka or tequila and accompanied by an interesting explanation. Another specialty of the bar is “bottles service” or the sale of entire bottles at a more advantageous price. Local bartenders will mix excellent cocktails from rum and other kinds of alcohol for you as well as prepare delicious coffee and tea. This classic Cuban bar places a huge emphasis not only on its authentic environment and the high quality of its drinks, but also on the professional attitude and knowledgeable skill-set of the staff, whose members are carefully selected and regularly sent to various trainings. Every Wednesday and Thursday La Casa de la Havana Vieja holds Cuban evenings with live Caribbean music. If you are attracted by the atmosphere of a Cuban bar with perfect service and a great offer of drinks, do not miss La Casa de la Havana Vieja, which incidentally ranked among the Top 10 Best Night Bars in the Czech Republic according to Maurer's Grand Bar 2012 and 2013.
