After climbing up Prague's famous Petřín Hill you will be rewarded by the amazing views afforded by a visit to the iconic Petřín Lookout Tower, although this will require even more physical activity on your part. We therefore recommend taking a short break for a visit to the local Mirror Maze before climbing up the many stairs to the lookout point.
The Mirror Maze on Petřín is located in a folly building resembling a miniature castle, a remainder of the Prague Jubilee Exhibition from 1891. While the beginning of the maze may initially be a bit frightening for small children, they will soon be through it to the mirror room where they will be happily surprised and delighted at the various contortions their image can go through, ensuring that they will have a lot of fun looking in the distorting mirrors in the Hall of Laughter. Watching their bodies shrink or stretch this way and that, both children and adults will have a great laugh, and it will make for some hilarious family photo opportunities. In the central hall of the maze there is a fascinating diorama depicting the fight between Prague residents and Swedish soldiers on the Charles Bridge in 1648, allowing for a quick history lesson in the midst of the fun. The Mirror Maze is open all year long and families, seniors, and students under 26 years of age, are entitled to a reduced entrance fee. The tour of the maze will take you approximately a half an hour.
