Miro Gallery

Located in Prague's Castle District and situated in the beautiful grounds of Strahov Monastery is the great Miro Gallery, an impressive independent art gallery that houses works by world famous artists.

Miro Gallery was founded in the city of Berlin in 1987 but luckily for the citizens of Prague moved to the city of one hundred spires in April of 1994. The gallery is housed in the Renaissance church of St. Roch, which makes such an unbelievably lovely setting for an art gallery. The gallery was established in Prague thanks to generous financial assistance from the beloved Karel Gott, a true national treasure, who gave the founder of the Miro Gallery, Miro Smolák, a one million CZK interest free loan to kick start this priceless gallery. Since it's Prague inception in 1994 the gallery has played host to numerous, wonderful international exhibitions of Modernism, musical concerts and more. The space features 170 square meters and has exhibited work by such amazing artists as Picasso, Derain, Braque, Chagall, Miró, Dalí, Legér, Rodin, Magritte, Dürer, Warhol, Sokol, Svolinský, Galanda, Tichý, Mucha and others. The gallery also features the art of contemporary Czech and international artists.
