A museum dedicated to the Czech Art Nouveau painter and designer Alfons Mucha is located in the Kaunický Palace in the very center of Prague.

The exhibition presents approximately 100 works by Alfons Mucha including oil paintings, drawings, pastels, sculptures and photographs, as well as personal objects that make it possible for visitors to take a look at the world of the famous author of posters for Sarah Bernhardt, a famous French actress of the end of the 19th century. Visitors to the museum will therefore learn about the comprehensive work of Alfons Mucha with the exception of the Slav Epic. The main attention is focused on the Parisian era of Alfons Mucha from the period of 1887 to 1904, from which a comprehensive collection of posters, decorative panels and other works are exhibited. On display are also posters, oil paintings and drawings from the period when Mucha worked in Bohemia (1910 – 1939), various decorative items and sculptures. A part of the exhibition is also Mucha's studio with original furniture and a half-an-hour long documentary on life and work of this famous artist. If you want to own something from the famous Mucha's motifs, you can buy any of the souvenirs with the motifs of Art Nouveau and Alfons Mucha offered at the local museum shop that are designed exclusively for this store.
