The historical complex of the former Holesovice brewery, turned into a modern residential complex according to the vision of the CMC Architects Studio in cooperation with Frank O. Gehry and Jean Nouvel, has been awarded the 'Best of Realty 2009' prize as well as the CIJ (Construction and Investment Journal) award in the category 'The Best Residential Project of 2009'.
Located in the up-and-coming Prague quarter of Holesovice, the former industrial complex of Holesovice Brewery waited for a reconstruction for a rather long time, but it is fair to say that the waiting has paid off. The reconstruction which eventually took three years was sensitive to the original genius loci and took pride in preserving many of the original details such as the cast-iron poles, the trusses or the metal pulls. In fact the current look of the brewery is a return to its original design since some of the later additions to the complex were removed.
The resulting residential complex, which Svoboda&Williams is the exclusive real estate agent for, includes the original brewery and two new buildings, the Plaza building with a tower and the Rezidence building, and offers 155 apartments including 40 exquisite loft apartments. Most of the buildings surround a spacious and attractive courtyard with a fountain.
