Up to 17,000 square meters of quality administrative space will be created by means of a reconstruction of two former industrial halls, Karlin Hall and Šípkárna in the Prague quarter of Karlin. The brand new business center in Karlin (Prague 8) opens its gates to potential tenants in 2012.
The halls in which this new business center will be located rank among the most important historical industrial buildings in Karlin and both structures have recently been sold by the Real Estate Karlín Group to Czech businessman and investor Zdeněk Bakala, the majority owner of the Economia publishing house, which will be one of the companies seated in the new business center. Due to cooperation between the Real Estate Karlin Group and Josef Bakala the two industrial halls will quickly change into prestigious office and conference space.
The famous Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill will lead the reconstruction of the two Karlin halls. Bofill has participated in many successful development projects of the Real Estate Karlín Group, which have contributed greatly to Karlin’s transformation after the disastrous floods of 2002 into a modern European quarter. Among the prospective tenants of these Karlín Halls is the above-mentioned Economia publishing house as well as the Luxury Brand Management Group.
