This impressive Baroque building—a former rectory with a mansard roof— suitable as a dignified family residence or restaurant with a guest house ideal for smaller weddings, is located in a place full of history near a Romanesque church and opposite the former Ostrovský Monastery founded in 999. A real cultural monument, which has been completely and carefully reconstructed, with a meticulously landscaped garden and parking for up to 10 cars, it is situated on the route between Prague and the Slapy recreational area.
The basement at the courtyard level consists of a restaurant with a historic fireplace and access to the garden, a bar, a kitchen, a wine cellar, ladies' and men's toilets, and a utility room with a separate entrance. There is a fruit and vegetable preparation room, a meat preparation room, storage, a cleaning room, and a cloakroom with a toilet and shower for employees. On the first floor (accessible by a staircase or wheelchair-accessible from the west facade), there is a living area with the possibility of dividing it into 2 separate units (1-bedroom and a studio, both with separate kitchens). Currently, there is an entrance and staircase hall, a large kitchen with a dining area and impressive views, a study (with a preparation for a kitchen), a bathroom, a sauna, 2 interconnecting rooms, and a bedroom with a fireplace and a bathroom. From the study and 1 room, it is possible to enter the side terrace. The attic is about to be completed and will offer rooms with private bathrooms and a wellness area with a sauna and Jacuzzi.
The house was completely reconstructed at the turn of the millennium under the supervision of experts in monument care. The windows are new wooden with interior blinds and exterior decorative window grilles custom-made by a blacksmith, hardwood floors or tiles (upstairs some 17th-century tiles), stucco walls, and a whitewashed facade. The restaurant and professional kitchen are fully equipped; 300-year-old beams were used to create dining tables and chairs. The stone steps and portals come from the original monastery.
There is a high standard moisture management system and a wide drying duct was built, used as a cellar for cooling drinks. The basement is equipped with high-performance air-conditioning. Water is from the municipal water supply, utility water from its own well; waste is drained into the sewer. Electric DHW boiler heating. Boiler rooms for the operating and residential part are separate. The building is guarded by a security system. In front of the house is a yard with a parking area that is reinforced with granite cubes from local quarries. The multi-level garden is divided by terraces with stone hand-made walls. A hedge separates the garden from the road.
The surrounding area offers many opportunities for hikes through deep forests over steep slopes with beautiful views, and in the valleys of rivers and streams. One of the routes leads directly from the house. Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding nature parks, while history buffs will appreciate being able to observe the remains of an ancient settlement. The place is perfectly accessible; the drive from the Prague Ring Road takes about 15 minutes. There is a suburban bus stop right in front of the house; buses go to the Smíchovské nádraží metro station and can take you to the Slapy reservoir.
