Unique in the world of Czech jewelry design, which is currently focused on minimalistic, sleek jewelry, is the jewelry created by designer Janja Prokić. This richly decorated, almost ethereal jewelry is inspired by the natural world in which we live, and features elements of flora and fauna. The jewelry that features motifs of animals such as birds, deer, foxes and more includes rings, bracelets, earrings, pins, etc. The design pieces are made with silver, precious gemstones and natural unprocessed stones. Besides inspiration from the natural world of animals, Prokić, who is originally from Belgrade is also influenced by the cultural traditions of Serbia, and is also interested in shamanism – all of these influences can be seen in her amazing work. Together with Anastassia Aleinkava, she was nominated for the Czech Grand Design 2011 Award for their collection titled Lure. Janja Prokić studied not only painting in Vladimír Skrepl's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, but also sculpture in Kurt Gebauer's studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design.
