Jewelry created by Dana Bezděková is characterized by sophisticated, original design, in which playfulness blends with minimalism.
Bezděková belongs among the prominent names in the Czech jewelry design scene and is one of few that designs jewelry for both women & men. In her work, clean geometrical lines are mixed with bold color elements, together emphasizing the importance of structures and other features of used materials. Mastering traditional goldsmithing techniques, Bezděková mostly works with gold, silver and precious stones. At the same time, she experiments with modern materials, including stainless steel and Corian (a solid material composed of acrylic polymer and alumina trihydrate), and techniques. These include, for example, 3D printing, which Bezděková has been using to decorate several collections. Some of the pieces of jewelry will charm you with sophisticated moving mechanisms, other ones with endless variations and combinations. Collections by Bezděková comprise rings both for women and men; earrings, necklaces and also cufflinks. The renowned jewelry designer is also engaged in studio and scenic projects, such as Autobizarre, an expressive collection of futuristic jewelry that connects minimalism and playful decorativeness, which is represented by tiny car models. The Autobizarre project first came into existence as a performance at the Kubista gallery and later earned some real glory at the 13th year of Designblok in 2011. Dana Bezděková also has a poetic style that is reflected in the PRINTI collection. This unisex collection consists of jewelry that consists of an imprint of a found object into precious metals – the pieces of jewelry copy a microphone network, a rusty tube or old typewriter keys.
