Aleš Kachlík, a young Czech designer, is the creator of a unique collection of eyeglasses, in which he combines time-tested, renowned wires shapes with modern technologies. Thanks to this combination, you can now be the proud owner of iconic, elegant eyeglasses of the highest quality!

Contemporary Classic, the very first collection of the LUME eye wear brand, was designed by Aleš Kachlík as a part of his final Bachelor project. It consists of a wide range of minimalist, handmade corrective eyeglasses and sunglasses, including both round and square frames, which were inspired by iconic designs, such as the “pilot” or “wayfarer.” The Contemporary Classic collection was formed for more than six months and was the result of hard work and intense studies. The collection presents elegant, exceptionally thin frames, which are made of a strong and resistant alloy of steel and titanium and will, therefore, easily endure everyday use. The collection offers also a bolder design of corrective eyeglasses and sunglasses with plastic frames. The thoroughly measured eye rims copy the shape of eyes delicately and, moreover, the eyeglasses can be adjusted in many ways (inclination and adhesion of the temple tips, nose pads, pad arms, etc.) There is also a possibility to have them custom-made. The collection succeeded in a national competition; the designer won in one of the most prestigious categories and was awarded with the prize for Excellent Student Design 2015. What is more, he was nominated for the Czech Grand Design 2015 prize in the Discovery of the Year category. Aleš Kachlík completed the Bachelor's program in the Product Design studio led by Jan Čapek at the Faculty of Art and Design of the UJEP in Ústí nad Labem, then continued to study in the Product Design studio led by Michal Froňek and Jan Němeček at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
