The Classicist Chlumetzkych civic palace was built in the 1850s by the farmer Anton Johann Ritter von Chluetzky, taking the place of four townhouse buildings. The palace was reconstructed between 2012 and 2014 and currently provides two floors for retail, one office floor and two floors of luxury apartments.

The building is located in the most attractive part of Brno's pedestrian zone, on the crossing of Česká and Jakubská streets. Accessibility by public transport is ensured by ten tram and trolleybus lines (Česká and Náměstí Svobody stations).
