Indoor Activities for Children

Prague Philharmonia

If your children have been showing signs of a growing interest in music, be sure to take them to one of the classical music concerts by the Prague Philharmonia, which take place at the Prague Rudolfinum and are designed specifically for children.

The Prague Philharmonia (PKF) belongs among the best and most famous orchestras in the Czech Republic. Besides holding concerts in Prague and the Czech Republic, it also travels abroad enjoying a great reputation and often taking part in various international music festivals. The Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994 by the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek. The average age of its members is a mere 34 years of age, so you can expect a fresh and energetic show. As the first orchestra in the Czech Republic, Prague Philharmonia started holding one-hour concerts for children accompanied by their parents, which have become very popular and through which children are guided by a variety of famous Czech personalities. The date of the next scheduled concert for children can be found on the PKF website provided below. For several seasons now, the PKF has been putting on entertaining and educational concerts for schools (also available in English). The Prague Philharmonia also runs the Notička Children's Club for children between four and 13 years of age, where they can get to know different musical instruments, meet musicians, draw, develop their theatrical skills and above all, have a lot of fun with their new friends.
