Design Glass, Crystal and Porcelain

Glass objects by some of the foremost Czech and foreign designers are offered by VERREUM, founded in 2009 with the aim of promoting and selling Czech hand-blown glass both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The VERREUM brand of the Czech SPACE CZ company is a synonym of highest-quality design glass products including vases, drinking sets, bowls, glasses, as well as lighting from hand-blown and mercury glass. It is the unique mercury glass, double-walled glass with a silver-coated interior, that is the specialty of the VERREUM brand, now one of the last companies in Europe to still produce it. In the past, mercury glass was produced mainly in the glassworks in Jihlava and Nový Bor where each glass factory had its own secret recipe of preparing the silver solution. The VERREUM brand strives to preserve this glass technique used for hundreds of years also for future generations and maintain the Czech tradition of hand-blown glass mainly through a close cooperation with Czech glassworks and foremost designers. Some of the Czech names worth mentioning are Rony Plesl, Jiří Pelcl, the Olgoj Chorchoj studio, Dagmar Pánková, and Leoš Smejkal. From abroad, VERREUM cooperates with Sebastian Herkner and Michael Koenig from Germany, and Arik Levy from France.
