Design Glass, Crystal and Porcelain

The Crystalite Bohemia Company glassworks in Světlá nad Sázavou were founded in 1967, but the first mention of glass production in this area comes from as early as the end of the 16th century. Due to this strong local glass tradition, it was not difficult for the glassworks to find its highly qualified local workforce, and nowadays its premium quality Czech glass is exported around the whole world.

Production in the glassworks in Světlá nad Sázavou kicked off in 1970 and focused mainly on hand-made production. Nowadays, some 17 million pieces of machine-blown stemware and 5.5 million glass gift items are produced here annually. The local glass excels in top design and first-rate quality and is processed from modern, ecologically-clean molten glass known as crystalite. Some of the most successful of Crystalite Bohemia's beverage glass sets include the Klara, Gastro, Laura, and Kleopatra collections, among others. The most popular of its eye-catching gift sets are the Quadro, Magma, and Falco collections, just to name a few. Crystalite Bohemia exports its products to 52 destinations around the world including Russia and the Arabian countries, which represent its most significant clients. Besides the glass factory in Světlá nad Sázavou, Crystalite Bohemia is also the owner of the Květná Glassworks in Moravia which cooperates with some of the top Czech designers, such as Rony Plesl, Olgoj Chorchoj and Bára Škorpilová.
