Enigma – Salvador Dali Museum in Prague

You will find the Salvador Dalí Enigma Museum on Opletalova Street right by Wenceslas Square. Pay it a visit to explore the largest private collection of statues by this titan of Surrealism.

This truly exceptional exhibit includes the most interesting sculptures that Salvador Dalí created while he was under the influence of psychoanalysis and Sigmund Freud. The fifteen sculptures are the physical representation of Dalí’s wildest phantasies, mixed with the obsession and paranoia that plagued the artist’s mind. Due to his genius as a sculptor, however, he was able to turn his thoughts and visions into art. Visitors can view the world-renowned Space Elephant, Snail and the Angel, and Space Venus sculptures, and see other bizarre creatures that look like they come from the realm between reality and the imagination. The museum was designed by Ing. Alessandro Pucci together with Art Director Roberto Panté. The collection was assembled by the famous Italian art patron Beniamino Levi, who was a close friend of Salvador Dalí. Levi devoted his entire life to collecting Dalí’s works and founded the Dalí Universe society, which administers one of the largest private collections of artworks by this peculiar artist. Besides the previously mentioned sculptures, visitors can also see fifty graphic works, including the most famous of them, L’oeil Fleuri, as well as a collection of glass sculptures and jewelry designed in Salvador Dalí’s style and made of gold and diamonds. Visit the Prague Salvador Dalí Muzeum and fall under the spell of one of the most influential Surrealist artists of all time.
